Delisa KomoriB.Mus, B.Sc
Delisa Komori began her piano studies with Eleanor Tsui at the age of four and completed the last level of her Royal Conservatory studies with Dmitry Nesterov, at the Mount Royal University. After the successful completion of the Royal Conservatory curriculum, Delisa continued her musical studies at the University of Calgary and studied under Patricia Jewell and Vladimir Levtov, with a major in Music Education and a Minor in Performance. She graduated in 1999 from the University of Calgary with a double major from the faculties of Music (B.Mus) and Science (B.Sc).
From 1990, Delisa started her own private piano studio. Upon graduation from University, Delisa's private piano studio has grown and her students have been awarded high honors in the city's yearly music festivals and from the Royal Conservatory of Toronto. During this time, Delisa was also an educator at a private school specializing as the music director. In the Spring of 2013, Delisa successfully completed the certification as a Suzuki Early Childhood instructor under the training of both Dorothy and Sharon Jones. With over two decades of musical study and dedication to pedagogue and instruction, Delisa is excited to add a new chapter in her musical career by instructing a new Suzuki Early Childhood class called 'Calgary Suzuki Baby'. This program will be the first certified Suzuki music class offered in the northwest area of Calgary, Alberta. |
